After a sad ending to the love story of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist from "The Golden Bachelor", Bachelor Nation is excited for a brand new show: "The Golden Bachelorette."
The first show about seniors finding love was such a hit, ABC announced earlier this year they would embark on another season featuring a female lead from Turner's season. On Tuesday, that lead was finally revealed to be fan-favorite Joan Vassos, a 61-year-old private-school administrator from Maryland.
The spinoff premieres this fall and the network is giving the episodes a longer airtime than "The Golden Bachelor."
Here is what we know so far about the upcoming season:

Who is the Golden Bachelorette?
Joan Vassos, 61.
Vassos left Turner's season early to help care for her daughter undergoing some medical issues. It was a heartbreaking goodbye for the both of them, as they had just shared a romantic one-on-one date.
Vassos is a grandmother and school administrator from Maryland. She lost her husband of 32 years, and now enjoys cooking, hanging out with her dog, and listening to Elton John music.
"As she steps into the golden spotlight and begins her journey to seek love once more, Vassos envisions a future filled with shared moments by the beach and cherished time with family," ABC said in a release.
When does 'The Golden Bachelorette' premiere?
"The Golden Bachelorette" will premiere this fall. ABC has not yet released an exact date.
What time is 'The Golden Bachelorette' on?
"The Golden Bachelorette" is slotted for Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. Episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
Episodes have a 90-minute timeslot, 30 minutes longer than the first season of the "The Golden Bachelor."
Who else is in the show?
The contestants vying for Vassos' heart have not yet been released.
Jesse Palmer was the host of "the Golden Bachelor, " but ABC did not immediately confirm if he would also host the upcoming season.
